Frequently Asked Questions

What does InboxWatch scan?

InboxWatch scans your mailbox settings including forwarding rules, mail filters, delegate access, send-as aliases, and more. We check for suspicious configurations that could indicate a security breach. We never read the content of your emails.

How often are scans performed?

InboxWatch runs automated scans every 30 minutes to continuously monitor your mailbox for threats. You can also trigger manual scans anytime from your dashboard. Scan frequency can be customized based on your plan.

What permissions does InboxWatch need?

InboxWatch requires read-only access to your mailbox settings and email metadata (not your email content). For Google accounts, we use gmail.metadata and gmail.settings scopes. For Microsoft accounts, we use Mail.ReadBasic (metadata only - subject, sender, date) and MailboxSettings.Read permissions. We never request permissions to read email body content.

How do I fix a security finding?

Each finding in your dashboard includes a detailed fix guide. Click on any finding to see step-by-step instructions for remediation. For critical findings, we recommend taking action immediately. If you need help, contact our support team.

Can I cancel my subscription?

Yes, you can manage your billing through the Stripe portal accessible from Settings in your dashboard. Your account will remain active until the end of your current billing period. You can also downgrade or upgrade your plan at any time.

Is my data secure?

Absolutely. We use industry-standard encryption for all data in transit and at rest. We never store the content of your emails, only metadata about your mailbox settings. Your scan results are encrypted and stored securely. Read our Privacy Policy for complete details.
